DRIVER RULES & REGULATIONS
GENERAL RULES FOR ALL EVENTS
The Event Manager/s have the final say in all calls and discrepancies.
All races will be 1/8th mile using a no prep drag racing tree. The start line controller will advise of any discrepancies off the start line example. one car jumps
No times will be shown and no time slips will be given.
This is a NO PREP race event. The Event Manager/s will have sole discretion as to all maintenance done to the surface of the track.
Crossing the centre line will result in disqualification, unless the race is over.
If a piece of your car comes off and goes into the other lane in front of your competitor , you lose. Unless the race is over.
Drivers MUST attend the Drivers Briefing (see below for more information).
Drivers and Passengers are required to wear all required safety gear according to the track policies.
All cars must pass a safety inspection and meet the class rules listed in this document. Staff will complete the safety checklist however it is the Drivers responsibility to enter a currently registered, roadworthy and fit for purpose car and then sign the safety list to acknowledge and take ownership of this. A sticker and number will be placed on your windscreen by a staff member.
All vehicles must start on their own from inside. No jumps or crank overs from the outside.
Seatbelts and Harnesses must be in perfect working order and worn AT ALL TIMES.
In the unfortunate event of vehicle failure, you can change your vehicle providing it is the same class / capacity for any event that includes a prize or prize money.
Drivers MUST have a valid Racers license. This can be purchased at racers.world
Drivers MUST sign up to the event prior to arriving then sign on to the event at the Oz Torque trailer and staff will sight your photo ID
Driver and limited crew (if any) permitted in the staging lanes and the start line - NO EXCEPTIONS.
SAFETY GEAR - all participants and passenger runs
Full length clothing (arms and legs).
Enclosed shoes that are in good condition.
Helmet - in date AUS/NZ 1698 or equivilent. Family Cruising Sessions do not require a helmet.
DRIVERS BRIEFING
ALL drivers are required to attend a compulsory Drivers Briefing. The following will be covered at the briefing:

Oz Torque acknowledges the dangers of Motorsport and there will be NO EXCEPTIONS! If you miss the Drivers Briefing you CANNOT participate and any patron that breaks the rules and regulations WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.
All Drivers will be required to sign the following after the Drivers Briefing:

STAGING
Free Runs Staging
Left hand lane passenger, right hand lane solo, middle lane pro street and pro class
Roll Racing
Left hand lane race anyone and right hand lane race your mate. Right lane sets the speed at 40km ph and race from the green light. If the left lane jumps, the Marshall will NOT switch the green light on and the driver will be disqualified.
Eliminations
Marshalls will stage the cars on the line (one Marshall per lane)
EVENT CLASSES AND REQUIREMENTS
4 Cylinder - Must be street legal and have current registration, slick tyres not permitted, methanol not permitted, NOS permitted, door cars only.
6 Cylinder - Must be street legal and have current registration, slick tyres not permitted, methanol not permitted, NOS permitted, door cars only.
8 Cylinder and 8 Forced - Must be street legal and have current registration, slick tyres not permitted, methanol not permitted, NOS permitted, door cars only.
Pro Street - vehicles with any of the following: Roll cage, parachute, large turbos or doesn’t have a full exhaust
Must be street legal with current registration, slick tyres not permitted, methanol permitted, NOS permitted, steel door cars only, no starters or crank overs from outside, no wheelie bars. Must have Steel Roof and Quarters. Parachute required if over 140mph. Full fire suit, enclosed shoes, gloves, hemet compulsory. Drivers must provide proof of car tech upon scrutineering.
PRO Small Tyre
• 28 x 10.5 Non W or Radial 275 (Max Tyre Size), No wheel limit
• Must have Steel Roof and Quarters, unless different from the factory (ie Corvettes)
• Must be a door car (no dragsters, altereds etc)
• Must start from the driver’s seat
• Wheelie Bars can be used
• AWD allowed
• Compulsory Parachute required if over 140mph
• Must be able to run eliminations with minimal cool down if needed
PRO Big Tyre
• Any tyre size permitted (28x10.5W or bigger classify as a Big Tyre). Small Tyre can enter Big Tyre
• Must have Steel Roof and Quarters, unless different from the factory (ie Corvettes)
• Must be a door car (no dragsters, altereds etc)
• Must start from the driver’s seat
• Wheelie Bars can be used
• Compulsory Parachute required if over 140mph
• Must be able to run eliminations with minimal cool down if needed
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THE RULES AND REGULATIONS WILL RESULT IN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION
